Molecular Spectroscopy D, 5 p

Course Contents

Spin interaction in magnetic fields and influence on spectra. Pulse and Fourier transform NMR. Electrical quadropole interaction. Time-averaging of spin interactions. Elementary relaxation theory. Multipulse and multidimensional NMR. Solid-state NMR. Basics of Magnetic Resoncne Imaging (MRI).

Compulsory laboratory experiments are included in the course.

  • Quantum Mechanics I, 4 p, Quantum Mechanics II, 4 p, Spectroscopy for Physicists, 4 p, and Physical Chemistry - Towards Relaxation in Condensed Phases, 3 p, or the equivalent.
