Enter the parameters you need, and click 'Recipe Please!'. This calculator provides you with a recipe according to your specifications.
CAS is the producer of the world's largest and most comprehensive databases of chemical information. Our principal databases, Chemical Abstracts (CA), and REGISTRY now include about 16 million document records and more than 26 million substance records respectively. CAS also produces databases of chemical reactions, commercially available chemicals, listed regulated chemicals, and compounds claimed in patents.
- ChemFinder Web Server
An extensive chemical database with over 75,000 unique substances. Requires registration but is free of charge. To search the data base you may enter a chemical name, formula, molecular weight, or CAS Registry Number. You may configure your browser to view structures in ChemDraw or Chem3D.
- The Chemical Calculator
The University of Sheffield's ChemPuter, a set of simple interactive calculators for chemistry on the World-Wide Web. It is a component of the WebElements package. Your browser must be capable of handling forms and tables. The Sheffield ChemPuter is a demonstration of WebStar/AppleEvents/SuperCard for the Macintosh.
- Conversion of Units
A forms-based "conversion calculator" where you may write a numerical value and a permissible unit into the free-form field. Alternatively, the unit may be selected from the selector box. Also includes a temperature conversion section.
Obtain quality 3D coordinates for your own chemical structures from the CORINA progam. Use WWW forms with Chemical MIME output or email interface for batch processing. 1000 coordinate sets free!
- Discovery School - A-to-Z Science Encyclopedia
Get all the science homework help you need with a free World Book science online database with thousands of articles that cover a wide range of science - plants, animals, space, and laboratories and more. Great for any age.
- Enhanced NCI Database Browser
The largest public chemical structure database, nearly 250,000 compounds.
- Food Additives in the European Union
This list, compiled by Dr David Jukes at The Department of Food Science and Technology, University of Reading, UK, lists all food additives in the European Union with corresponding E-numbers.
- Fundamental Physical Constants
A list maintained by Burkhard Kirste in Berlin.
- International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC)
Recommendations on Organic & Biochemical Nomenclature, Symbols & Terminology including Glossary of Organic Class Names, Carbohydrate Nomenclature, IUPAC Atomic Weights etc.
- The Grob Test
A brief description of the Grob Test for GC capillary column efficiency, activity and film thickness.
- IUPAC Nomenclature of Organic Chemistry
Organic nomenclature according to the 1979 and 1993 IUPAC recommendations. With search function to compunds examplified in the IUPAC material.
- Marine Sediment and Rock Data
NGDC's Marine Geology and Geophysics global marine sediment and hardrock databases aim at serving as the international focal point for marine geology data management. All data are in the international public domain, available globally to any interested individual or group. On-line searches of NGDC's data holdings and an index to seafloor samples (cores, grabs, dredges, and drill samples) available for futher study from other institutions are offered, along with direct download of many data files. Among the databases searchable on-line are the Marine Geology Data & Reports, The Index to Marine Geological Samples, Searches of Marine Geology Data & Inventories, Sediment Thickness of the World Oceans, Ocean Drilling Data , Marine Minerals Data On-Line & on CD-ROM. This is an invaluable site for marine chemists.
- NASA Thesaurus
An electronic version of the NASA Thesaurus, covering a vast variety of technical terms - not only related to space.
- NIST Chemistry WebBook
Thermochemical data for over 5000 organic and small inorganic compounds: Enthalpy of formation, enthalpy of combustion, heat capacity, entropy, phase transition enthalpies and temperatures, and vapor pressure. Reaction thermochemistry data for over 8000 reactions. IR spectra for over 7500 compounds. Mass spectra for over 10,000 compounds. Ion energetics data for over 14,000 compounds: Ionization energy, appearance energy, proton affinity, and gas basicity. Data in the NIST Chemistry WebBook may be retrieved for specific compounds by searching on name, chemical formula, CAS registry number, molecular weight, ionization energy or proton affinity.
- The NIST Reference on Constants, Units and Uncertainty
The NIST Reference on Constants, Units, and Uncertainty, one of the technical activities of the Fundamental Constants Data Center of the NIST Physics Laboratory (National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA). Among the categories you will find Atomic and Nuclear and Physico-chemical constants. There is also a Conversion factors for energy equivalents calculator.
- Statistics for Analytical Chemistry
This page is an introduction to statistical tools used for analytical chemistry. It was developed to help students apply statistical tests and tools to data sets typically encountered in analytical chemistry.
