- Index to U.S. EPA Test Methods
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has formulated hundreds of test methods that must be used by U.S. environmental labs. The complete list is avaliable from The National Environmental Information Service both on-line and in a printed version.
- ISA - The International Society for Measurement and Control
Advances the technology, and the competence and careers of practitioners worldwide for the benefit of industry and humanity. A non-profit engineering society with nearly 50,000 members around the world, ISA offers a wide range of programs and activities of interest to anyone involved in measurement and control in the process and discrete manufacturing industries. Opportunities to network with peers, read about the latest industry news and product developments, access premier reference and training products, and participate in technical forums make ISA an important part of the successful career of industry professionals.
- ISO Online
The International Organization for Standardization is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies with mission to promote the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services, and to developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity. ISO's work results in international agreements which are published as International Standards. Links on this server lead to subjects such as "ISO members worldwide", "ISO Catalogue", and "ISO 9000 News Service".
- National Product Data Exchange Resource Center
This center is managed by the U.S. Product Data Association. Product Data Exchange is the ability to express and exchange in a digital or computerized format all useful information about a given product. Product Data Exchange will enable those involved in a product's development (design, engineering analysis, manufacturing and support) to define, access, and exchange all useful information via computer. The deployment of this technology will mean shorter development times, higher quality products, lower costs. It will also insure flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of customers, manufacturers, suppliers and users.
National Institute of Standards & Technology [USA] was established by the US Congress "to assist industry in the development of technology ... needed to improve product quality, to modernize manufacturing processes, to ensure product reliability ... and to facilitate rapid commercialization ... of products based on new scientific discoveries". Within this server, the Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory may be of particular interest to the analytical community.
- NIST Chemistry WebBook
Thermochemical data for over 4000 organic and small inorganic compounds: Enthalpy of formation, enthalpy of combustion, heat capacity, entropy, phase transition enthalpies and temperatures, and vapor pressure. Enthalpy of reaction data for over 1300 reactions. IR spectra for over 5000 compounds. Mass spectra for over 8000 compounds. Ion energetics data for over 12000 compounds: Ionization energy, appearance energy, proton affinity, and gas basicity. Data in the NIST Chemistry WebBook may be retrieved for specific compounds by searching on name, chemical formula, CAS registry number, molecular weight, ionization energy or proton affinity.
- NRC Certified Reference Materials
Information on CRM's from the National Research Council of Canada.
- NSF International
NSF was chartered in 1944 with a vision and mission for public service. Today, it is recognized worldwide as the premier, US-based third-party certifier in its specialties -- health and the environment.
- Standard Reference Materials
A page pointing to other SRM resources, maintained by Mike Epstein.
- Standards, Specifications and Regulations
An annotated list of sources to standards, specifications and regulations.
